While all helmet manufacturers provide the circumference for their helmets, they do not all have the same length and width dimensions. I prefer the wider helmet that the Bell helmets provide. They are just more comfortable for me than most others I have tried.I have a big melon ( head ) - size 8 hat. For whatever reason Bell helmets fit me the best. I rode motorcycles when I was young & now I ride a road bike. I chose this helmet because Bell make very good helmets & they fit me perfectly. Fortunately I have not had a hard crash on my motorcycle. I did do an endo off a bridge with my mountain bike into some rocks a few years back. The helmet did its job & protected my head. I was able to continue my ride although I replaced the helmet. I highly recommend Bell brand of helmet. They have protected me comfortable for many years.Excellent helmet for the price.Ordered the grey and red, got the grey and pink. Great helmet, but had to return.Seems nice and light, and airflow is great compared to others. I like this one so far! Rode about 200 miles with it, and love it!This helmet fits me well and is lightweight. However, all of the padded pieces inside are disintegrating after less than 2 months of use. Also, the ventilation is quite poor.I certainly wouldn't pay too much for this helmet and didn't. I got it via Amazon on some type of sale, for about 60. It does not seem to be a $100 or $120 helmet.Pros: comfortable, fits my head (just like for motorcycle helmets, the first priority is fit, and only secondary/tertiary do stylistic or other features come into play), the Bell sweat guard does the job on the brow (until it doesn't, but gives a rider plenty of time to either look down/press their forehead to it/press the helmet to their forehead to drain it - and it will be an impressive stream of sweat).Cons: yes, it allows air in, which is what we want, but perhaps it either allows more air in than other super-vented helmets, or it just isn't a correct design, but I feel this helmet is less aerodynamic than my last Giro. But the helmet certainly seems a little wider/mushroom-topped than the Giro.Neutral: there is a little tab, pictured and highlighted, that is a 'keyed' tab - mine somehow came undone, and despite trying to snap it back together it just wouldn't. It wasn't until I was analyzing it today that I saw it was a keyed tab. So it didn't break, but it did come apart at some point. I feel that some less aware may either not notice this, or never figure out how to put it back together. I'll call it a better design than a snap since it floats its range freely and probably has less of a chance of breaking.Verdict: A great mid range (not upper mid-range) helmet for casual cyclists. A little less aero than we roadies who hope, and do, maintain higher speeds should expect. I'm keeping it for gravel riding, and just bought a different brand to try for my road helmet.I am a long time Bell helmet wearer. Their newer MIPS helmets are light, fairly comfortable and well ventilated, but I have had some durability issues with their circumferential fit system. To start, the rubber coating they put on the adjusting wheel decomposes relatively quickly, becomes gummy and falls off. The wheel still works, but the rubber coating isn’t worth the cost of applying it. A solid wheel, as used on less expensive helmets, would work just fine. Even worse, the adjusting system can be over adjusted so that the ends of the part that encircle your head come out of the adjuster. And they can’t simply be pushed back in, the ratchet won’t engage them. The whole thing has to be pried apart so that they can be put back. The unit consists of three plastic parts pressed together. I was lucky, I got them apart, put the loose ends back in and got it reassembled without breaking it, but the potential to break something is great. If you do break it, you toss your expensive helmet in the bin for something that shouldn’t have come apart in the first place. Despite this … yeah … I bought another one. It is a good helmet. You just need to be aware that it’s figment system is “delicate”.Excelente
