I have only owned a couple Bontrager helmets before this one, and I must say that I am impressed. It is comfortable, fits perfect, and the visor is going to help greatly. I have a Trek Spee Concept and while on the aero bars, I could not see while looking up from the tucked position due to the frame on my sunglasses. Rather than buying new glasses, I opted for this helmet with a visor and I am glad I did! I cannot attest to how it performs in hot temps yet, but I will update after more use.Update: used it today in moderate winds (10-15mph) and 55 degree weather. I was hoping for warmer weather, but I got to test the visor in slightly higher wind speeds. On a high cadence at 90rpm/20mph Into the wind, the visor did not even flinch! Aerodynamics while tucked In are very good, I would like to say I feel less drag, but that is probably me over analyzing it haha. Regardless, this helmet is awesome. Great brand. Great fit. Great price. I will update again when I can test it’s ventilation in the heat!Update: 29 April, 201895 degrees in the SW Mountains and it did just fine, actually better than expected. No crazy sweating in my eyes, absolutely nothing. The visor has been perfect as well. Great field of view and no “wind in the eyes” as other have stated? I have ridden in 15mph winds with not even a hiccup from the visor, or wind in my eyes... they must be wearing it backwards or something lol!? Long rides are a go as well, two hours and no soreness or hot spots. Very pleased with Giro. This is my second one. I love the way it fits but the reason I really love this is I wear prescription glasses and I cannot get my prescription in wrap around sunglasses. The shield goes right over my glasses and I can wear them when I ride. I also love the fact that the shield snaps off and I can put it up on the helmet when I do not need it. The magnets are strong and it does not come off. This is all i wear as far as a helmet so to me it is worth a little extra to get a great fitting, comfortable and sturdy helmet. The helmet (GIRO AIR ATTACK SHIELD) is an excellent product. It is very well designed and provided the safety I needed during a serious fall. I ride on rugged roads and conditions. And because of that, it isn't uncommon to have a spill now and then. This helmet did save me from a protentional head injury. The helmet is no doubt a 5++ star for protection.HOWEVER:I am very disappointed with the visor. There are magnets that are supposed to keep the visor in place and they do so under perfect conditions as long you are are on a controlled track making all left turns. I cannot recommend the visor. I ride on various street conditions and should I hit a bump I can expect the visor to fly off. After this happing many times my frustration leads me to no longer using it. I have two visors, the visor that came with the helmet (tinted) and the clear. Both sit on a shelf collecting dust a costly error on my part.I opted to use my lanyard sunglasses with this helmet. BTW, THIS IN NO MEANS IS A REFLECTION ON THE HELMET. The helmet is excellent and the visors are great if you duck tape them in place.Really good helmet with an very good shield. Love having a shield covering my face without having to wear glasses. If by chance you have eye glasses, you will still have plenty of room to wear them, along with the shield. I am having problems with the adjustment knob on the back. It's difficult to turn to tighten or loosen. Almost impossible when you have sweaty hands, which will be given in the summer months. Only other knock, is the shields often leaves streaks from sweat/rain. Unless you bring a cloth on your ride, stop and really work to clean it, you will have streaks to deal with. For me it's not a huge issue but I'm not OCD. I could totally see where this would irk someone. I will say the magnetic strip that attaches the lens to the helmet is spot on. Nearly impossible to knock off while riding. I bought a replacement shield just to have and the mix up the look every now and then. Overall great buy!The first time I used it I noticed that there was a crack in the eyepiece. I could not prove that the problem did not derive from someplace in my handling since the buy as I did not notice this problem when I unboxed it. I told all this to the vendor and they were gracious enough to replace the part at no cost to me. I really appreciated that. The helmet fits well and the eyepiece easily is moved out of the way at times it's not needed. The magnets seem strong enough too.Giving this 5 stars just because I'm in love with this helmet. However, it's not 250$ comfortable. It venilates extremely well however the padding that touches the forehead gets very hot. I actually had a mild headache after my first ride just because I was enclosed behind the visor so I didn't want to break anythjng by repositioning the helmet while riding. I might have to do some adjustments or get used to it; it is my first shield helmet. Overall, great helmet and very slippery over the top, I honestly felt a lot more aero. The visor is crystal clear and has cranks on top just so it doesn't fog up. I thought that was pretty cool.Very cool-looking helmet- I received a lot of compliments from fellow riders. However, the really nice feature of this helmet (and others with visors) is that, since I wear prescription glasses, the visor allowed me to ride with my regular prescription glasses on sunny days, then when I step inside a store, I just remove the visor and attach it to the magnetic points. Before I bought this, I had to carry my prescription glasses in a case, which was cumbersome.Another thing I noted is that this helmet really kept my head fairly cool. I just went out on a 16-mile ride in the humid 98 degree Texas day, and felt fine. Overall, a great helmet.
