I'm not shy to helmets – I ride MTB, Dirt (dual sport Yahama), Street Bikes, and I'm a certified ski and snowboard instructor. I always wear a helmet, and advocate that all others should. The reason I upgraded to this helmet, is my old Protac wasn't MIPS certified, which on my dirtbike helmet that was a huge deal to get, so I figured that I need to follow suit for mountain biking. I have a hard tail and a dual suspension but I don't get too crazy, but after breaking my leg a couple years back on a blue run snowboarding (I'm an experienced backcountry rider, resort double blacks are nothing, was just bombing a groomer and got bit by a snow snake, gash in my board and front flip at 40mph, concussion and broken goggles, my helmet saved me so as mom always said, WEAR A HELMET. Shattered my tibia and fibula but my head was ok..). Basically, I'm a big fan of helmets and have many for every sport, MIPS is what you want and this one is great for the price. The details on this helmet - it looks stylish which I do care about. The visor works and doesn't fall down over my line of sight. The back is adjustable with a click retention system, which I like a lot as I have a big head (New Era Hat Size 7 5/8). On the last click this one fits me securely, you never want a helmet too loose. I've had this a couple months now, and done some longer treks (20mi dirt) and it is comfortable and breathes in the heat, no problem wearing it for hours and doesn't give me a headache so I'm giving this 5 stars, especially given the price for the style and features. I haven't taken a crash on it but like most safety features, you have it and hope you never "need it" - this one is great to me as an active male that lives in the mountains. I highly recommend if you don't get this one, do buy a MIPS helmet - I am replacing all my old ones for this new tech as it's worth it.
