Let's just start with, this review is about active life store, can't seem to figure out where Amazon has hid reviews for stores on the app so it's going right here. Skip below for thoughts on the helmet itself.Bell helmets have saved my life before, I know this one will be just as reliable, no question. My problem is... If you want mips the local stores here are going to tack on at least $100 to the msrp of the helmet. (and they wonder why they can't sell anything ?‍♂️). Anyways... I don't mind a little markup to keep the local brick and mortar open... But not 4 times the msrp. yeah found this helmet for $170 at local shop. searched around seems that this Amazon retailer is in line with online retail price, ships free with my Amazon account, states it'll be here before Wednesday or Thursday when I placed the order order. Perfect... Or so I thought.Well that's where everything went wrong. See I ordered Friday needing the helmet in 8 days. When it didn't ship by Monday I wasn't really worried since Amazon was still telling me free 2 day shipping. By Wednesday I should have canceled the order but figured it still had time to make it when I needed it. Later Wednesday my order was updated to Friday - Wednesday of the next week. Friday afternoon when I got out of work it still wasn't showing shipped, I went got lunch came back to cancel my order. Sure enough it had shipped. A week to ship is unacceptable! Especially when I ordered originally it was supposed to be here Wednesday or Thursday! Now it's not supposed to be here before this week Wednesday. Yep still don't have my helmet, had to buy a no name at a store near the event. Which they only had extra large or small so had to battle an I'll fitting helmet during my ride... Thanks active life store for being anything but active.For the record just placed another one in my cart. Says it'll be here Thursday through Monday... Somehow I doubt that.5 stars for Bell, I know it's going to be a good helmet. - 100 stars for active life store.Ok I'll admit this is my first true (er second see above) bicycle helmet in over a decade, so keep that in mind. Usually I run a motocross helmet but that's for short rides not for putting on the miles... so... Bicycle helmet, yeah... I was expecting something a little more old school with this one, I was pleasantly surprised by its weight and comfort. 60 miles my first ride with it and barely noticed it. Good airflow and lighter compared to my previous bicycle helmets, and yet still feels very solid. And definitely more airflow than my motocross helmet. And I like the fact it's not a dark color (white with light grey). My only real complaint is the visor, it's just too short to really be of any use. And personally i prefer a helmet to come down a little lower in the back than this one goes, but that's really my personal quirk not a fault of bell or this particular helmet. As I said before, bell helmets have saved my life, and not just once. Hopefully I'll not have to test that with this one, but I trust if it comes down to it, it will too.
